Inventory Accounting Clerk

The Inventory Accounting Clerk is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the dealership's inventory in the accounting system. 
The ideal candidate has two (2) years of experience in a similar position. They can work in a fast-paced and challenging environment handling multiple projects and must have excellent communication, administrative, organizational, and computer skills. 
They must be detail-oriented and good with numbers and proficient with accounting software and with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Responsibilities 

  • Processes new vehicle DMV
  • Enters all new vehicle into the system
  • Processes dealer trade transactions
  • Enters purchased used cares into the system
  • Reconciles the physical inventory of vehicle in order to balance the books
  • Processes trade payoffs and follow up on title status with lienholders
  • Work with sales and finance to ensure required documentation
  • Reconciles factor holdbacks
  • Maintains reporting systems required by general management and lien releases
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Dealership Accounting Clerk

The Dealership Accounting Clerk ensures the validity and accuracy of accounting functions on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis. They work to ensure a timely transfer of all information that affects accounting and payroll. They handle financial records, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll taxes, bank reconciliations, etc. and work in our Dealer Management Systems.

This person posts vehicle transfers, reconciles and pays off vehicles, as well as reconciling and paying vendors for vehicle related products. This position assists customers and banks with refunds and cancellations.  In addition, this person provides administrative support such as answering phones, typing, filing, data entry and record keeping, and other duties as assigned. 

The ideal candidate has dealership experience with an emphasis on office functions, as well as Reynolds and Reynolds’ experience is a plus. The preferred candidate has a degree in Accounting or Business Administration and at least one year of experience in a position of similar responsibility. They must be detail-oriented and good with numbers and skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains an orderly accounting system
  • Receives, reconciles, and processes vendor invoices
  • Prepares customer invoices and credit batches
  • Reconciliation of daily cash deposits
  • Prepares accounts payable checks and posts all open items in accounts payable daily
  • Reconciles statement and ledger and ensures payments are consistent with set schedules
  • Maintains petty cash systems
  • Assisting customers and banks with refunds and cancellations
  • Complies with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Maintains updated files for accounts receivable and payable
  • Ensures that all accounting transactions comply with financial policies and procedures Provides administrative assistance as needed
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required

The Certified and Master Certified Service Technician services and repairs vehicles following all established standards and procedures. In addition, they may be assigned to conduct pre-delivery service on new vehicles to ensure excellent working order for the customer.
